essential zbrush book by wayne robson

Link to amazon for pre order

Well here it is!  The book I’ve been working on in near total secrecy for a year.  Available now on  pre-order at amazon and out in a few weeks I prommise it’ll not disapoint.  This is a BIG book that covers more detail on Zbrush, how to use it, how to digital sculpt than any other.  It also covers getting all map types into both 3D Max and Maya and more stuff than I could cover here.

This book comes with a companion DVD with all the work files needed, 3 hours of video tuition covering both organic and hard surface sculpting in Zbrush and many extras.  This is a book you are going to want to have on your shelf.

Go and order it now.

The Elder

Monday, July 28th, 2008

OK, I’ve named this doodle ‘The Elder’. Suprisingly enough this has worked and I seem to ahve my creativity back. I can sort of tell as it ony took 30 mins to texture with no photos used. The render is Zbrush..in fact its zbrush form start to end.
Enjoy…

Artistic Block work through

1 hour speed sculpt

I’ve managed to get myself a wee bit of an artistic block at the moment, so I’m trying to work it out with some doodles using a different approach to usual. Heads from a sphere (as usual) and collar is from a cylinder primitive. 1 hour over two sessions.

I keep hoping if I do enough sculpts and doodles it’ll kick back in again and out of this bad case of the blocks, mainly as its starting to drive me loopy.

For those intersted the latest video blog is up on youtube in the usual place.

I’m currently reading through the proof copy of my upcoming book ‘Essential Zbrush’ thats available on pre-order on amazon right now….just type in Zbrush and its on page 1.

Oi big ears!

Another quick (under 2 hours) warm up sculpt from earlier in the week.

Yes I’m back!

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

It’s been a while hasn’t it? Well what with moving house etc and preparing for a very exciting Doctor Who project as lead organics modeller /sculptor it’s been all go. Combined with that I’ve also been without a net connection for the last 3 weeks which sort of screws things up a bit lol. Although thank god I’m back online now…I really was starting to miss it. Although it gave me plenty of time to catch up on my movie collection lol.

So I’m full of inspiration and chomping at the bit ready to roll. The model above is one of a few warm up ones I did while offline. That particular one was about 1 ½ hours from start to finish (using a very low poly base mesh … in fact the very same one as I use in the 3dcrative Zbrush for beginner series of articles.)

Of course being offline for that amount of time means I have more emails than god himself to catch up on and reply to, so it looks like a busy few days ahead for me.  I’l try and get a video blog up this week time permitting for those of you than enjoy them.
