Music I wrote

I do have (or had) some sort of life beyond 3D and digtial sculpture, and play a number of instruments and write my own songs. The albums you see below (I’l add more as I track them down) were recorded in one take many years back (between 5-12 in fact) so bare this in mind when you listen to them.

Recorded back in 1997 in about 1 day without break. Wrote and recorded live with no editing to takes etc. It got a fair bit of airplay on saudi arabian english speaking stations for some bizaar reason (even more so as I dont send my music to record companies or radio stations, as the world has enough mediocre music.)

I wrote these songs for no one but myself as I needed some chilling music to relax to, and what better way to get the exact music you need, than to write and record it yourself. All instruments and production etc…are by me. To this day I’m still proud of the solo on ‘Justify your fears’.

Done back in 1995 when I first got my hands on music recording software such as cubase. (…and yes evil thoughts is supposed to cut at the end like that!) Has some of my ‘heavy metal’ stuff that I never got around to recording lyrics for and some chill stuff I liked to write.

This contains my most recent songs before I had to sell my bass guitar (thus putting paid to any futher albums till I get around to buying a new one…. and that was about 5-6 years ago) as well as some of my oldest from back in 1992 from when I was using an old analouge FOSTEK 4 track and didn’t yet own a computer. ‘Baroque chilling’ was the final track I recorded…although for the life of me I can’t remember writing it as it was improvised live for each take.

The later songs were wrote whenI first met my wife Katrina..which obviously worked as we now have a son (2 1/2 years old and called Kane.) ;)

Stuff used to record them:

Old recording software caled ‘N-track V1′

87 Ibanez in a rather fetching metalic purple. :)

95 strat with SRV pickups and set of 12 gauge strings

88 custom shop telecaster

Stratocoustic

Zoom rack FX unit for reverbs etc…

A very old knackerd floor FX unit by Yamaha from about 83 for the other stuff

Akai drum machine and borrowed Akia sampler from my brother

The keyboards are an old Casio kids keyboard.

Brass slide and glass geniune bottle made slide for slide guitar stuff (in open G, D, and A)

Enjoy
